Sustainability is a driving force that shapes the decision making process for all of Artemis Foods’ operations. While we are a catering and event company, focused on successful events and happy clients, the values of sustainability are also paramount to how we measure our success. Responsibility and thoughtfulness in our role as stewards of the land and how it is used are inherent in all that we do.
Artemis Foods has been dedicated to local and organic ingredients and sustainable business practices since the founder, Grace Henricks, started the business back in 2001. Grace chose the name Artemis after the Greek Goddess who was known as the Goddess of the Hunt and Goddess of the Wild. Artemis used natural foods for healing and was also known as the protector of women and children.
In the spirit of the Goddess Artemis, we support and promote the idea that sustainable eating equals environmental stewardship and a higher quality of life for our staff and our community. Artemis Foods became a Certified B Corporation® to quantify and measure our impact on all of our stakeholders: workers, suppliers, community, consumers and the environment. A minimum of 80 points (out of 200) is required to earn B Corp™ certification; Artemis Foods documented and presented data that earned 117 points.
